Karaj faculty of Medical Sciences Started working , from the second half of 2007 with 177 students in 6 fields of study in associate degree, one official faculty member and 4 experts in the education department. The faculty was separated in 2010 from Iran University of Medical Sciences and Health Services and continued its activities independently with 7 fields of study, 8 faculty members and 6 experts in the department of education as" Karaj Medical Sciences and Health Services Faculty". After the formation of the Alborz province, this faculty was transformed into Alborz University of Medical Sciences. Presently, the university benefits from 6 schools admitting students in a wide and varied range of fields, 261 outstanding and influential faculty members that educate and train more than 3000 students studying at all levels of medical fields at ABZUMS’s faculties, and doing their practical training in Teaching Hospitals equipped with the latest technology and equipment.

 

To date, 2511 healthcare professionals have been graduated from ABZUMS in all branches of health care, including health, medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, nursing, midwifery, and paramedical sciences.

 

ABZUMS has six Vice-Chancellors: Vice-Chancellor of academic affairs, Vice Chancellor of research & Technology, Vice Chancellor of Student and Cultural Affairs, Vice-Chancellor of Food and drugs Affairs, Vice-Chancellor of healthcare and Vice Chancellor of resources planning and management development, who are the main wings of the university in fulfilling its tasks.

 

The university is in charge of the whole health care system regulations and coordination throughout Alborz Province.
