Definition: MSc in Midwifery is a dedicated branch of Midwifery field that consists of a series of theoretical and practical training and research courses designed to provide dedicated and skilled human resources and to develop the necessary scientific and practical skills and competence in the fields of sociology, midwifery and modern midwifery education, research and services, and new midwifery science and techniques.
The main mission of this program is training dedicated and skilled human resources, who are capable to provide specialized midwifery services in different related areas.
MSc in Midwifery includes trends in midwifery education, reproductive health, forensic midwifery and community-oriented midwifery.
Aim:
The main objective of this course is to train skilled learners in accordance with educational standards to provide specialized services in the fields of health, medical, educational, research and consulting.
At the end of the program learners will be competent in the following skills:
1. Providing midwifery and reproductive health services (health, education and care)
2. Conducting research projects in the field of midwifery and reproductive health in the educational and research centers
3. Implementing educational programs in the field of midwifery and reproductive health in the educational and research centers
4. Providing consultancy, planning and management services in the field of midwifery and reproductive health in the health care, educational and research centers
5. Interpreting the pregnancy test results
6. Providing health education concerning sexual and reproductive health
7. Providing traditional and contemporary family planning methods
8. Providing screening services for breast, cervical, and other genital tract cancers
Total number of credits: 32 including: Specialized core courses: 16 credits, Specialized non-core (Elective) courses: 10 credits, and Dissertation: 6 credits
