This is a 2-month course for preparation of physicians to approach multiple trauma patients. In this course, students participate in lectures, simulation skill stations, and real practice in Emergency department under complete supervision. This course is designed not only to increase the trauma knowledge of doctors but also to provide a field for hands on practice. In emergency department, they are on full supervision of emergency staff.


Emergency staffs are ATLS course providers and instructors. At the end of the course, the students will be able to:
- Define the principles of approach to trauma patient
- Describe the importance, steps and priorities of primary and secondary surveys in trauma victims
- Manage the airway in multiple Trauma patient
- Define the signs of shock in trauma patients
- Explain the emergency approach head trauma
- Discuss how to approach to an abdominal blunt trauma victim
- Evaluate a patient with suspected spinal injury
- Describe how to immobilize the extremities
- Properly manage a burned victim
- Explain the management of trauma victims according to age and special conditions
- Recognize the importance of team practice and communication skills
- Perform a good triage in mass casualty incidents
