This course deals with different aspects of oral cancer. Early diagnosis of oral cancer can improve survival. In fact, early detection is the most effective approach for survival. We will try to qualify general dentists for early diagnosis and treatment of oral precancerous lesions and complications of oral cancer treatments. The dentist will observe many cases and will be familiar with different treatment protocols for precancerous lesions.

Mashhad College of Dentistry was established in 1966. Since the foundation of the University, over 3000 dentists have graduated. The area in which the cancer patients were identified (eastern provinces: north, Razavi and south Khorasan and Sistan and Baluchestan) comprises population about 7,500,000, and all head and neck cancer patients of this area are supposedly referred to Mashhad College of Dentistry(MCD) . Oral cancer is among the most important health concerns in the world. Despite advances in diagnostic approaches and treatment modalities, the survival rate is still low. In Iran, survival rate for all cancer types is 30%. This educational opportunity is provided by the group organizer for better understanding of different aspects of oral cancer diagnosis and treatment. For an optimum learning experience, sessions are limited to a maximum of 10 participants. The dentists will acquire knowledge and skills to provide advance level care for patients with oral cancer and precancerous lesions.
