Mashhad Dental School was established in 1966. Since the foundation of the University, over 3000 dentists have graduated. There is a laser research center in this faculty. There are different types of laser devices in this center as follow: Diode laser, Co2 laser, Er:YAG laser. Having knowledge about patient safety and laser physic is crucial, and it is highly recommended to be competent before using laser in dentistry. First of all, it is better to be expert in using Diode laser before employing Co2 laser, and then in this course, the focus is on different aspects of applying Diode laser. For an optimum learning process, sessions are limited to a maximum number of 10 participants.

Attendance:
• The focus of the program is on applying Diode laser in dentistry.
• The program is three weeks in length, but you continue to work in your dental office after program and you can be in contact with organizing team.
• The program is designed for International trained dentists.
• With faculty guidance, the participants are required to prepare and present a research paper that deals with a topic in laser in dentistry. The topic can be selected from a list of suggested topics or determined by mutual agreement in conjunction with the group international program leader.
• During the final week at Mashhad Dental School, participants are required to formally present one clinical case performed and completed in oral medicine department or in laser research center.

Goals and Objectives:
Upon completion of this program, the dentists will have the following knowledge and competencies:
• A basic understanding of the mechanisms involving the laser physic
• A basic knowledge of the different type of lasers
• A basic knowledge and employing laser in clinical practice
• A basic attitude regarding patient safety during applying laser in dentistry
• Competency in usage of Diode laser in different department of dental school
