Nursing care for dialysis
2- Course definition
The purpose of this course is to secure the professional needs of nurses upon entering the dialysis and peritoneal dialysis departments and has also been codified for nurses occupied at the dialysis departments in order to increase their level of knowledge and professional skills.
3- Course necessity, effects of executing the short term course on health:
In order to secure the professional and educational requirements of nurse graduates to work in the dialysis department and to promote their professional skills ultimately leading to a better quality of caring for dialysis patients.
The following goals will be accomplished upon completing this course:
a) Preparation of nurses in order to work in dialysis departments in regards to knowledge and skills related to caring for dialysis patients
b) Introduction of nurses to the fundamentals and appropriate methods of caring for dialysis patients
c) Promoting the level of knowledge and information of nurses in dialysis departments
d) Improvements in offering better nursing services in dialysis departments in order to prevent impositions and to promote the level of patient health.

Facilities, conditions and necessities needed for initiating the short-term course:

Selected centers for hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis from Mashhad University of Medical Sciences educational hospitals.
• Practical training
Educational Environment
Nursing and Midwifery college conference hall and educational hospital Mashhad University of Medical Sciences were chosen for theoretical classes.

Regular attendance is essential during the course period
If the number of absences exceed four sessions for theoretical classes and 4 days of clinical novitiate classes the participant will be removed.
Registration fee
Total of 800 thousand tomans for each individual which includes: theoretical class fees: 3 million tomans with a capacity of 20 individuals; and practical classes fees: 3 million tomans plus each 5 companion with the hospital commissions which is 1 million tomans for 20 individuals; and the commission for the location of holding practical classes which is 1.5 million tomans for 20 individuals; and finally the 60 thousand toman fee of reception for each individual.

B) Complete description of skill implementation:
The apprentice must be completely familiarized with the hemodialysis device and must have fundamental and academic access to the patients vessel and attach them to the device. The apprentice must treat the device with care and adjust it accordingly, they must perform standard cares for the patient under hemodialysis and must control the problems that may occur during dialysis of the patient and must also be able to perform peritoneal dialysis for the patient in need.

1. Undergraduate nurse with no previous work experiences in dialysis departments nor with any necessary skills related to this field
2. Senior nurse without working background in dialysis departments

1. Promotion of knowledge and information about caring for burnt patients
2. Performing fundamental, practical and standard cares for burnt patients

Location: Departments of dialysis and peritoneal dialysis from selected educational hospitals.
Time: Saturday to Wednesday (5 days a week)
Details: each group must attend 11 weeks of 5 days, with 6 hours a day from 7 am to 1 pm (total of 330 novitiate hours). Every group must attend a 10 day period under the supervision of the hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis department instructor and at the peritoneal departments of the mentioned hospitals under the supervision of the novitiate instructor.
