Cardiovascular disease (CAD) is the first leading cause of death in Iran as well as in the world. Several factors have been associated with this disease, including genetic risk factors, biochemical characteristics of population (e.g., HDL, hypertriglyceridemia,…), Ethical background, Nutritional patterns of population, etc. Despite extensive efforts in clinical management of patient, the prognosis and diagnosis of this disease is still poor.

Several factors have been associated with this disease, including genetic risk factors, biochemical characteristics of population (e.g., HDL, hypertriglyceridemia,…), Ethical background, Nutritional patterns of population, etc. Despite extensive efforts in clinical management of patient, the prognosis and diagnosis of this disease is still poor.
The aim of current project is to establish new rules and formula for diagnosis of patient with cardiovascular diseases using novel methods such as data mining algorithms (decision trees, neural networks, support vector machine) to find new models.
In the current program, we will use our cohort of MASHAD study bank (containing 8000 patients with and without CAD) and Vitamin D program (containing 1000 young women). We will employ data mining algorithms methods such as decision trees, neural networks, and support vector machine in order to identify new prediction models.
