This short term course involving macroscopic and microscopic examination of specimens, interactive lectures, slide seminar, case-based discussions, supervised reporting and practical laboratory techniques .Case-based discussions designed to provide a review of most common oral and maxillofacial lesions for participants to turn their knowledge and skills to real case studies. Cases are chosen that span the scope of oral pathology in specialty practice, In addition, tutorials and practical classes provide an opportunity to examine macroscopic and microscopic specimens illustrating the pathology covered in lectures. A background knowledge of basic anatomy, histology, physiology is expected. The microscopical diagnosis of common and significant oral pathological lesions as well as differential diagnoses are taught. This one-month short term course is provided by the faculty members of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology to give an exposure to the significant oral lesions that will include: most common odontogenic cysts and tumors, epithelial oral lesions, salivary gland tumors, bone and soft tissue tumors, hematologic disorders and dermatologic diseases with emphasis upon differential diagnoses.
