Interest in and usage of botanicals and herbal preparations as alternatives to pharmaceuticals has exploded in recent years. This class provides a detailed botanical overview of the herbs, including information on its medicinal parts.

This course covers the following topics:

· Introduction to Herbal Medicine

· Principles of herbal therapy based on Traditional medicine

· Therapeutic applications of some common medicinal herbs in Traditional medicine Practical prescription of herbal drugs

. The students also can learn about the actions and pharmacology (including the compounds and their effects), contraindications, precautions and adverse reactions, dosage information, and a complete list of literature citations
