At the end of the course, the participant is expected to have an attitude to provide the correct treatment plan for reconstruction of severely damaged teeth, understanding the clinical consideration for composite and amalgam restoration, the principle of bonding procedure, resistance and retention form achievement  for severely damage teeth, metallic and tooth colored post requirement and  magnification as wells as finding the ability to perform amalgam and composite buildup with good contact and contour.

Number of sessions: 10 sessions

1- Theoretical part (4 sessions)

Subjects:

• Treatment planning and clinical consideration for post placement
• Principal of enamel and dentin bonding
• Shade matching, different methods of composite placement, methods of achieving good proximal contour and contact, light curing, finishing and polishing
• Clinical techniques for complex amalgam restoration

2- Preclinical part (6 sessions)

Subjects:

• Complex amalgam restoration with TMS pin on the study model (acrylic teeth)
• Complex amalgam restoration with metal post on the study model (acrylic teeth)
• Complex composite restoration with FRC post on the study model (acrylic teeth)

3- Clinical part (3 sessions)

Subjects:

• Complex amalgam restoration with TMS pin on vital teeth
• Complex amalgam restoration with metal post on endodontically treated molar
• Complex composite restoration with FRC post on endodontically treated premolar
