Orthopedic department at Imam Reza Hospital provides hand and microsurgery care for the vast majority of the patients with hand and upper extremity disorders. Care within our department ranges from simple and common hand surgeries such as carpal tunnel and trigger finger release and hand and upper extremity trauma surgeries to surgical treatment of rare and complicated surgeries such as different types of local and free flaps, brachial plexus repairs and reconstruction, wrist-elbow-shoulder arthroscopy and arthroplasties and congenital disorders.

             Performing complex hand and microsurgery procidures definitely require a full 2-year fellowship course after graduating from general orthopedics, but for most simple and common hand and upper extremity surgeries including local flaps, nerve grafts and hand and upper extremity trauma, a short 6-month course can also be helpful.

• The course instructor has an associated-professor (MD, PhD) degree and hand fellowship from Harvard University and has more than one hundred prestigious and international articles as well as 25 demotic and international patents.

           All trainees who are a certified as general orthopedic surgeon in their countries will have the opportunity to join us in operation room and take part as hands on trainee. This department is a part of medical school and trainees in all levels are take parts in department’s scientific activities.

            The criteria for entering the training course is passing a written exam and an interview.
