Nursing is an independent program, and is a sub-branch of medical science. Nursing graduates, as a member of health care team, will be working in areas related to health care, education, research, consultancy, prevention, management, and rehabilitation. B.Sc. in nursing is the first level of nursing education which has been developed based on scientific and religious criteria. Nursing education at the B.Sc. level trains professional nurses, who, as a general staff nurse, would be able to take a responsibility of health assessment, coordination and implementation of care for individuals and families in different areas of practice.

Mission

The mission of nursing education at B.Sc. level is to train knowledgeable, committed, competent, and efficient professionals, who, by gaining professional abilities and latest knowledge, are capable of providing, maintaining, and improving health care and rehabilitation services for the society that are cost effective with highest standards. This could be achieved through education, research, and

development of nursing knowledge.

Vision

Based on the program, in ten years’ time, along with the fast-changing world, students will be educated based on international and regional standards, secure their position in prevention and different areas of health care, will take national jobs, deliver cost-effective and high-quality health care to improve the health of the society and the quality of patients’ lives and will be well known in the region and internationally.

Aims

The main aim of the program is to train nursing professionals, who, as a member of the health care team, will be able to work in areas related to health care, education, research, consultancy, prevention, management, and rehabilitation to provide, maintain, and improve the health of individuals, families, and the society.

Nursing

As a student in Maragheh University of Medical Sciences Bachelor of Science in Nursing program, individuals will receive personalized attention from experienced faculty members and have direct care opportunities in a variety of healthcare and community settings, providing you with a strong foundation for your professional nursing career. There are 3 hospitals under University operation in Maragheh city which makes the nursing programs more practical and the opportunity of early field experiences is easy to catch by students.

Educational Strategies, Methods and Techniques

Task-based learning, blended learning (teacher-centered and student-centered), blended learning (attendance and DLN), problem-based learning, professional competency-based learning, and evidence-based learning.

Methods and Techniques Lecture (question and answer, video clip), journal club, case presentation, discussions in small groups, seminars and conferences, site visits

Ethical Issues

The graduates should:
Observe the Patient's Bill of Rights1 when working with the patients.
Strictly observe Biosafety and Patient Safety Rules* concerning the patients, personnel and workplace.
Observe the Rulebook for Dress Code2.
Strictly observe the Regulations of Working with the Laboratory Animals3.
Carefully preserve resources and equipment.
Truly respect faculty members, the staff, classmates and other students and work for creating an intimate and respectful atmosphere.
Observe social and professional ethical considerations in criticism. 1, 2 و and 3 are contained in the Enclosures. * Biosafety and Patient Safety Rules will be set out by the Educational Departments and will be available to the students.
