A three weeks short-term Course on Instrumentation in Health Sciences will be held by the  Medicine Faculty, Aja University of Medical Sciences, Tehran, Iran.
This course is a “gentle” introduction to and overview of complex measurement content that will help you make thoughtful decision about measurement of health constructs.
This practical course makes complex measurement content to anyone who has a basic understanding of statistics and statistics inference.
This course consist of a compelling multidisciplinary approach in health related fields such as military medicine, military nursing, Public health, epidemiology, physical therapy and other health related fields and draws from psychometrics, clinimetrics, and other field to understand measurement concepts.
Practical guidance on measurement and scale development that present in this course assist those who develop new SOFT instrument (such as paper-pencil tools), adapt existing ones, select instruments for use in research especially in clinical trials or in clinical practice, interpret information from measurements and changes in score, or undertake a systematic review on instrument.
Introduction to the foundations and techniques of designing Paper-Pencil tools in quantitative studies; Psychometrics steps (Psychological Validation) and Clinimetrics (Clinical Validation)
At the end of this Course, participants are expected to be able to:

1.            Describe the methods for collecting data in the design process of the questionnaire
2.            Compare the application of different instrumentation approache
3.            The process of translation and Cross-cultural adaptation of non-native questionnaires
4.            Explain and apply new approaches to determining Face Validity
5.            Explain new approaches in determining the Content Validity of the questionnaires
6.            Describe the various methods of Construct Validity (or Hypothesis Testing Validity)
7.            Perform Exploratory Factor Analysis  using IBM-SPSS Statistics Software
8.            Perform Confirmatory Factor Analysis (or Structural Validity) using AMOS Software
