6th JBI EITP course and EBM fellowship program is

The Research Center for Evidence-Based Medicine of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences, in collaboration with the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) of Australia, as the first and only scientific hub of this institute in the region and Iran, held the first phase of the sixth course of the Evidence-based Clinical Fellowship. The program was attended by 18 faculty members and researchers from medical universities across the country. The first week of this course, which was educational and face-to-face, took place from 24/2/2024 to 29/2/2024 at the Innovation and Acceleration Center of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences, with lectures by official JBI instructors. During the first week, participants familiarized themselves with EBM and Evidence Implementation concepts, developed their project proposals, and defended their proposals on the last day of the first phase.

 

It is worth mentioning that following this course, fellows will have a 6-month period to implement their projects with the guidance of their mentors. At the end of the 6-month process and during the last week of the course, participants will defend their projects and upon approval by JBI, officially receive the EITP certificate and Evidence-based Clinical Fellowship from the JBI Institute at the University of Adelaide in Australia and the JBI scientific hub in Iran.

Honorable promotion of the position of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences in the pharmaceutical index (pharmacology, toxicology, and pharmaceutics)

Tabriz University of Medical Sciences ranks fourth in all indicators among medical universities in the country, and according to the ranked specialized indicators, Tabriz University of Medical Sciences has achieved 50th place in the world among all sectors (Research centers, hospitals, and scientific institutes) in the pharmaceutical index (pharmacology, toxicology, and pharmaceutics).  

It should be mentioned that Tabriz University of Medical Sciences has first place in the Middle East and Iran in this index.

Living in Tabriz

Tabriz is the fourth largest city and one of the historical capitals of Iran and the capital of East Aarbaijan Province. Situated at an altitude of 1,350 meters at the junction of the Quru River and Aji River, it was the second largest city in Iran until the late 1960s, and one of Iran's former capitals. Tabriz is located in a valley to the north of the long ridge of the volcanic cone of Sahand, south of Eynali mountain. The valley opens out into a plain that slopes gently down to the northern end of Lake Urmia, 60 kilometers (37 miles) to the west. With cold winters and temperate summers the city is considered a summer resort.

Tabriz University of Medical Sciences (TUOMS), affiliated to the Ministry of Health, Treatment and Medical Education, is one of the most prestigious medical universities in Iran. It is a state medical university located in Tabriz, East Azerbaijan Province, Iran. Being founded in 1946 this university is the second oldest medical school in the country.

TUOMS has always been actively involved not only in academic activities, but also in research, health and treatment.
