On November 30 and December 1, 2023, an international workshop on the Internationalization of higher education in medical sciences was held at Jundishapur University of Medical Sciences, Ahvaz, specifically targeting the universities in the Region 4 (Ahvaz, Abadan, Behbahan, Dezful, Lorestan, and Shushtar). The two-day workshop was attended by Dr. Bagherifard (Vice-Chancellor for Education at the Ministry of Health and Medical Education), managers, faculty members, and staff from the universities of the Region.

The two-day workshop was attended by Dr. Bagherifard (Vice-Chancellor for Education at the Ministry of Health and Medical Education), managers, faculty members, and staff from the universities of the Region.
In this workshop, the internationalization of higher education was examined from various perspectives by experts from the relevant fields. On the first day of the workshop, Dr. Shabani (Head of the National Secretariat for EducationIRAN) and Dr. Namazi (Executive Manager of the Secretariat) presented the secretariat’s activities in the current year.
The activities of the secretariat in the current year include updating the introductory brochure on Iran and higher education in Iran, preparing introductory brochures of EducationIRAN for two target groups (domestic universities and international applicants), informing universities and different cities of Iran through social networks, conducting workshops to strengthen college staff in the field of internationalization of higher education and participating in events for students.
In the following speech in this section, the communications with university members and their privileges were discussed. Subsequently, the status of the specialized web pages of the member universities in the region 4 in the EducationIRAN portal was presented based on the criteria established for the evaluation of the web pages, and recommendations were given to the facilitators to improve the current status of the university websites.
It is worth mentioning that Ahvaz Jundishapur University of Medical Sciences currently has 400 international students from Iraq, the Kurdistan Region, India, Pakistan, and two African countries studying in 26 departments of medical sciences.
