The fifth session of the Internationalization of Higher Education Task Force in the Region 10 took place on February 18, 2024, with representatives from 9 universities and medical organizations in attendance. The meeting commenced with an introduction to the Blood Transfusion Organization and its educational, research, and international capabilities presented by Dr. Amini, the organization's dean. Subsequently, 3 universities presented their annual activities.
During the session, Dr. Shabani, the manager, and Dr. Namazi, the Executive manager of the national secretariat for EducationIRAN, provided a comprehensive report about the activities of EducationIRAN in 2023-2024. Providing necessary infrastructures, active participation in several workshops on the internationalization of higher education for various universities, holding educational sessions for university focal points, participation in student events, conferences, and congresses related to the field of education, as well as the development and distribution of new brochures and booklets to introduce Iran and showcase the capabilities of member universities and EducationIRAN were examples of its activities which were shared with the attendees.
One of the main goals of the secretariat in 2023-2024 was to increase interactions with focal points of universities and provide services in the field of internationalization of higher education. During the session, Dr. Namazi also highlighted the new evaluation indicators for member universities in 2024-2025. Continuous updating of university-specific web pages, participation focal points of universities in educational workshops organized by the secretariat, sharing important news related to internationalization, and collaboration with the secretariat in promoting the capacity of universities through social media have been taken into account as indicators.
