As a non-resident international student, you are required to secure a visa for entry into Iran. Because the visa application process can be a complicated procedure for students, GOUMS will assume the responsibility of the visa process for all prospective international students who have been granted admission to GOUMS. Consular affairs, managed by international students, are divided into two phases: the first phase involves the time prior to your arrival in Iran; the next phase relates to the period after your arrival.

Pre-Arrival
Upon declaration of admission, you are asked to submit the following items to GOUMS via e-mail; thus, your visa application procedure can commence:

  • A passport size photo
  • A scanned copy of the information pages of your passport
  • A Completed Visa Application Form
The visa process can take anywhere from 6-8 weeks to complete. Each successful applicant is assigned a reference number/authorization code by the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. You will need the reference number/authorization code along with your original passport to collect your visa. Once we’ve received the reference number/authorization code, we will forward it to you via email. Then, you should schedule an appointment with the Iranian embassy or the consulate in your country to inform them check this on your application form. Take the obtained visa reference number/authorization code together with your passport to the relevant embassy or consulate to collect your visa.

Post-Arrival
All international students are required to register at the Office of Consular Affairs after their arrival in Gorgan. Students who seek help on consular issues can consult the Office of Consular Affairs after making the necessary arrangements with the Office of International Affairs at Golestan University of Medical Sciences.  
Documents for Registration:

  • A letter of introduction from the Office of the Vice chancellor for Global Strategies and International Affairs at Golestan University of Medical Sciences
  • 3 recent photos (see instructions below)
  • An original, valid passport
  • A copy from the main pages of your passport, including the visa page

All international students are required to apply for a student residence permit within 30 days of their arrival, in Gorgan, to be allowed to remain in Iran as an international student.
 Documents for a Residence Permit:

  • Certificate of student status
  • 3 recent photos (see instructions below)
  • An original, valid passport
  • A copy from the main pages of your passport, including the visa page
  • An original deposit receipt of 20,000 tomans transferred to the bank account number found below

If your visa has expired before issuance of your residence permit, you are required to extend your entry visa.
 Visa Extension Requirements:

  • 2 recent photos (see instructions below)
  • The original valid passport
  • A copy from the main pages of your passport, including the visa page
  • An original deposit receipt of 6,000 tomans transferred to the bank account number found below

Whenever an international student intends to exit Iran, for short or long durations, they must ask for an exit visa.
 Exit Visa Requirements:

  • Certificate of student status
  • 2 recent photos (see instructions below)
  • Original, valid passport
  • A copy from the main pages of your passport, including the residence permit page
  • An original deposit receipt of 4,000 tomans transferred to the bank account number found below

*We strongly recommend that you refer to the Office of Consular Affairs ten working days before your scheduled departure date.
Student residence permits must be renewed on a yearly basis.
 Requirements for Renewal of Student Residence Permit:

  • Certificate of student status
  • 3 recent photos (see instructions below)
  • An original, valid passport
  • A copy from main pages of your passport, including the residence permit
  • An original deposit receipt of 20,000 tomans transferred to the bank account number found below

*Students are required to consult with the Office of Consular Affairs 10-15 days prior to the expiration date of residence permits.
 *Important Notice

  • Photos should be 3*4 cm or 6*4 cm in size
  • All payments should be sent to the Melli Bank Account No. 2171153009002 under the name of the Police Force of Islamic Republic of Iran

Medicine
MD.(Medicine)
At the present the general medical education system consists of 4 basic physiopathology courses-clinical training-clinical internships.
Basic medical science course is 5 semesters Upon completion of the course students are allowed to enter the next period (physiopathology) and before entering to the next the comprehensive medical science exam is available to all students at the same time by the Ministry of Health and Medical Education at all medical universities.
And admitted persons will be allowed to enter the physiopathology course. This exam includes teaching topics in the basic sciences.
