The efforts of the academic family of Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences for the promotion of the University’s world ranking have been realized

Dr. Tohidloo in this interview, while referring to the report of the Times International Ranking System in the newly released list of the world University Ranking that shows the Shahid Beheshti Medical university has improved 400 ranks compared to last year, said: “The ranking of the university in 2023-2024 was upgraded to 600-800 in the world among 1904 institutions and 9th national rank, among 73 Iranian institutions."  

With reference to the review of 16 practical indicators in the Times ranking, he said: "practical indicators are used in the form of five general educational, research, citation, industrial and international indicators with shares of 29.5, 29, 30, 4. percent and 7.5 percent respectively."

Explaining the key indicators of the Times ranking, Dr. Tohidlo said: "These indicators include qualitative research, well-known and applied academic research at the international level."

The number of citations, students at different levels of study, staff, faculty members, industrial income, and the international ranking were among the items that were mentioned by the Executive Vice-Chancellor.  

Regarding Dr. Tohidlo's remarks, due to the outstanding scientific growth and promotion of Asian universities and the flow of world scientific power from the West to the East, the Times ranking system has also published the ranking of Asian universities since 2013. 

According to the Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences Public Relations report, the score of the university in all the defined indicators and sub-indicators has made a balanced progress, which has led to the improvement of the status of Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences.

It worth mentioning that the Times World University Rankings is one of the most reliable international systems that has been ranking universities internationally since 2004, and the international reputation of this system makes it one of the largest and most diverse university ranking databases.
