We understand that your choice of funding/scholarship program is very important to you. There might be funding/scholarship opportunities announced for international students who are interested in pursuing their studies at TUMS. Students who are interested in such announced opportunities are encouraged to include their request and the reason why they should be awarded a scholarship in their letter of motivation. TUMS may allocate its students one of the following types of scholarship:
Type C Scholarship:

TUMS provides all students with computer labs, library, and Wi-Fi Internet access at the dormitories, as well as a partial lunch plan. If you apply for TUMS type C scholarship and you are accepted, TUMS provides you with:
- free-of-charge accommodation,
- free-of-charge registration,
- free first transport from airport in Tehran,
- free health & sport insurance,
- free Persian language classes for students who are interested or required to attend the classes.
All of the above-mentioned facilities (excluding education fee) which totally cost $5,766 will be paid by TUMS. Therefore, students are required to pay only their education fees based on their accepted programs. This scholarship (Type C) is for your first academic year and can be extended by TUMS Scholarship Committee on a yearly basis depending on your academic performance at TUMS.
Therefore, from your second year onwards, if you request TUMS financial aid and you are accepted, TUMS provides you with:
- free-of-charge accommodation,
- free health & sport insurance,
- free Persian language classes for students who are interested or required to attend the classes.
All of the above-mentioned facilities which totally cost $5,691 will be paid by TUMS. Again, students are required to pay only their tuition fees every year.
Education fee, life expenses and travel tickets will not be covered by this scholarship. Students are responsible for these expenses.

Type B Scholarship:
If you apply for TUMS scholarships and you are considered as one of the most qualified applicants, you might be accepted for type B scholarship;
Type B Scholarship is a Tuition-Waiver Scholarship
Some applicants might be accepted to receive one of the TUMS tuition-waiver scholarships (between 1% to 100% discount for the first-year education fee), based on their scores obtained in previous degrees. In this case, you might receive between 1 up to 100 percent discount on your first-year education fee, and you should pay the rest of the remaining education fee. Based on this scholarship, the awarded amount of your first-year education fee will be paid by TUMS. This scholarship (tuition-waiver) is for your first academic year and can be extended by TUMS Scholarship Committee on a yearly basis depending on your academic performance at TUMS.
Your first year awarded tuition-waiver scholarship might be extended for your second year based on your academic performance at TUMS. The extension of the scholarship follows a yearly basis.

TUMS awards Type A scholarship to some Post-Doctorate candidates ONLY.
Type A Scholarship is Full Tuition-Waiver Scholarship plus Monthly Stipend
Some Post-Doctorate candidates can receive TUMS full tuition-waiver scholarships (100% discount for the education fee) plus monthly salary based on their research project and scores obtained in previous degrees.

There is NO APPLICATION FEE at TUMS. Filling Online Application Form is free of charge and active all year round but it is highly recommended to apply for TUMS 6 months prior to your intended academic session.
