Dr. Hossein Ghanaati, President, and Dr. Mohammad Hossein Ayati, Deputy for International Affairs of Tehran University of Medical Sciences, participated and delivered speeches at the Consortium of Medical Education Centers of Shanghai Cooperation Organization member countries, as well as the International Higher Education Conference and Exhibition in China. Continuing their trip, they visited universities and research institutions in Beijing, engaging in discussions and meetings with officials to further the university's internationalization goals and development of international programs.
These two international events took place simultaneously from October 27 to 30, 2023, in Beijing, the capital of China. Universities from around the world participated in these international gatherings, showcasing their activities and achievements.
The International Higher Education Conference and Exhibition in China, held on Saturday, November 5, 2023, featured three panels. In one of the panels, Dr. Mohammad Hossein Ayati served as the panel moderator, and Dr. Hossein Ghanaati, as the panel speaker, presented on the topic "Medical Education Model in the Islamic Republic of Iran" during this gathering.
After delivering a speech at the scientific session of this global conference, Dr. Ghanaati, the university president, accompanied by Dr. Ayati, visited the university booth in the exhibition area.
During this visit, the President of the Tehran University of Medical Sciences had a meeting with Dr. Ismail Mehryar, the Scientific Attaché of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Beijing, to discuss further activities and collaborations.
On the second day of their trip, Sunday, November 6, 2023, the university president and the deputy for international affairs attended the Consortium of Medical Education Centers of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (Medical Institution Consortium of Shanghai Cooperation Organization) meeting for the second time since their membership. The meeting was hosted by Peking University Medical College.
