History

In order to spread the culture of research and develop applied environmental studies, the environmental health research center was officially started in 2000 by obtaining its establishment permit from the related ministry

In order to spread the culture of research and develop applied environmental studies, the environmental health research center was officially started in 2000 by obtaining its establishment permit from the related ministry, but on September 13, 2009 the name of the center was changed from the environmental health research center to the health sciences research center with the purpose of focusing special attention on all aspects of health and involving all health-relevant specialties, and as a response to the suggestion put forward by the school of health and accepted by the Research and IT department of the university. The center officially started its activities in the school of health on September 13, 2009 after its name was changed from environmental health engineering and has been active ever since. The primary research policy of the center consists of the following fields:

    Public health and health management

    environmental health

    occupational health

     statistics and epidemiology

     medical entomology

     nutrition and other health-dependent sciences

In order to help this vision to materialize, the center will broaden its relationship with other research centers.

Mission

The health sciences research center of Mazandaran University of Medical Science plans to smooth the path for improving the performance of the healthcare system by conducting applied researches, educating research oriented students in different fields of health sciences, holding educational courses and offering special services in various areas of healthcare; we also aim to work with related national and international health organizations, policy makers of this field and other dependent areas and researchers in relevant sciences.

The center also has in mind to fulfill its goals of education, research and health by doing quantitative and qualitative studies focused on effective social factors which affect the health with the purpose of improving the community health and producing the required knowledge of the province with regard to the needs of the community, relying on enthusiastic researchers and staff active in this field..
