Vision

 

The Health of Plant and Livestock Products Research Center of Mazandaran University of Medical science aims to focus its efforts on improving the health of plant and livestock products by conducting researches and producing science based on the demands of the community.

The center hopes to take effective steps toward improving health for every individual in the community and providing them with healthy plant and livestock products by attempting to gain a central position in the region and stimulating growth and prosperity of research. Of course, accomplishing the above-mentioned goals and achieving efficiency necessitates cooperating with other related organizations.

Since scientific progress is impossible without research, and as the supreme leader put it, “precise research activities are requisite for serving people well”, this center was found to act as the scientific and research arm of Mazandaran University of Medical Science to protect and improve community health in the field of plant and livestock products. In line with bringing to attention the element of research as a principle, we will have a fundamental and strategic role in expanding knowledge about plant and livestock products and shedding light on the way of policymakers of this field.

The Health of Plant and Livestock Products Research Center feels committed to provide and improve plant and livestock products health for all natural and legal entities, namely people, industries, students, staff and faculty members; therefore:

Mission

Working with two deputies (research and technology and food and drug) and enjoying its productive researchers and human force the center plans to achieve its strategic goals of improving health in the community by conducting studies and developing science and technology concerning the health of plant and livestock products.

- Developing knowledge and studies on the health of plant and livestock.

- Developing and improving the preventive measures of risk factors for the health of plant and livestock   products.

- Developing and improving modern technology for evaluating the health of plant products.

- Developing and improving modern technology for evaluating the health of livestock products.

- Bettering the management for improving the quality of plant products.

- Bettering the management for improving the quality of livestock products.

- Developing and elevating the position of the center in regional, national and international scales.

 

Ongoing Activities

 

- Completing the strategic plan of the center

- Increasing the number of research plans within the working scope of the center in the province, in line with the policy of plan and livestock product health.

- Easing teamwork activities for doing health-oriented research.

- Encouraging and supporting health-oriented research by choosing the research ideas and implementing the findings in executive affairs and policies of the region.

- Cooperating with the chancellor for food and drug and other organizations to find strategies for identifying challenges, presenting solutions and drawing the route map for addressing health-related problems across Mazandaran province.

- Publishing the results for the use of policymakers, researchers, experts and all people of the community.

- Cooperating with members of the health and hygiene workgroup in the province and other executive organizations to find strategies for identifying .challenges, presenting solutions and drawing the route map for addressing health-related problems across Mazandaran province.

- Empowering junior researchers and students to carry out activities related to health-improvement of plant and livestock products in the region.

 Research Ethics

Researchers are obliged to observe all regulations and guidelines of the ethics committee of the chancellor for research regarding the type of research activity they are involved in.

 

History

The request for the foundation of product-oriented research centers for control laboratories of all food and drug deputies across the country was first submitted by the deputy minister and the president of the organization on October 24, 2012.

The request for the foundation of product-oriented research centers for control laboratories of all food and drug deputies across the country was first submitted by the deputy minister and the president of the organization on October 24, 2012.

In a letter concerning the assignment of a product-oriented research center to each university, the vice chancellor for food and drug of the university introduced the control laboratory of the deputy of food and drug as the center for product-oriented studies to carry out experiments on dairy and livestock, and also garden and farm products with regards to the fact that it is the specialized hub in this field.

Simultaneous with the declaration of the specialized conditions of the personnel and lab facilities, the request was filed on May 7, 2013, by the president of the university and deputy minister in the province. In a letter (No D/685/4622) on July 15, 2013, the foundation of the center under the name “The health of plant and livestock products” was approved and following that five people from the faculty members were chosen and introduced to the deputy of research and technology as the founders of the center by the vice chancellor for food and drug on July 23, 2013.

Finally, based on a verdict given by the council for the expansion of medical universities in their meeting number 245 on March 7, 2015, the foundation of the center was approved. The verdict then was announced to the president of the Mazandaran University of Medical Science by the minister of health and medical science along with the statute of the center consisting of 9 articles and 1 annotation.

Followed by an announcement made by the president of Mazandaran University of Medical Science on April 27, 2015, Dr. Mohammad Azadbakht was assigned as the chairman of the center. He held the title until November 26, 2017. Since then, Dr. Mohammadreza Shiran, the vice chancellor for food and drug of the university, has been serving in this position. He took valuable steps to achieve the goals of the center with a new approach and by inviting some new members to work.

The Health of plant and livestock products research center is located on the fourth floor of building no 2, deputy of food and drug in Mazandaran University of Medical Science.
