The Board of Directors of Mazandaran University of Medical Sciences met with the plenipotentiary representative of the government of Zimbabwe in line with the joint memorandum of understanding between Mazandaran University of Medical Sciences and the Embassy of Zimbabwe to discuss expansion of educational and research cooperation.
According to the Public Relations, in the meeting on May 9th, 2024, the Minister of Science and Higher Education of Zimbabwe, as the plenipotentiary representative of the government of this country in Iran, Bright Kupemba, Ambassador of Zimbabwe, President of Harare Polytechnic College, and Dr. Farhad Gholami, the chancellor of Mazandaran University of Medical Sciences, MAZUMS Vice chancellors and director of international affairs were present.
In the beginning, the Minister of Science and Higher Education of Zimbabwe met with Dr. Farhad Gholami, and discussed the joint cooperation in the fields of education, health, treatment, research, training of human resources, especially students, dispatch of medical staff and admission of Zimbabwean patients. They also discussed and exchanged opinions regarding the design, management and implementation of rural-urban health networks in Zimbabwe and the introduction of the implementation plan of this project by Mazandaran University of Medical Sciences.
Dr. Mohsen Ramezani, Director of International Affairs of Mazandaran University of Medical Sciences, said: This meeting was held following the memorandum of understanding between Mazandaran University of Medical Sciences and the Embassy of Zimbabwe in order to increase International interactions and develop bilateral educational, health and treatment cooperations.
He announced the welcome and interest of the Zimbabwean delegation to the medical, educational and treatment capacities of the Mazandaran University of Medical Sciences and emphasized: the representatives of the Zimbabwean government expressed their hope in this meeting that there would be direct communication between Mazandaran University of Medical Sciences and several Zimbabwean universities in order to expand cooperations, and hence, they officially invited the Chancellor and the officials of Mazandaran University of Medical Sciences to visit Zimbabwe to increase interactions and develop bilateral relations and to closely visit the scientific and educational centers of this country.
