On December 16, 2023 Mr. Bright Kupemba, Ambassador of the Republic of Zimbabwe, met with Dr. Farhad Gholami, Chancellor of Mazandaran University of Medical Sciences to explore the university’s potentials in education and health tourism.

In this meeting which was arranged by Dr. Mohsen Ramezani, Director of International Affairs at MAZUMS, members of the board of directors, advisors to the chancellor and a group of school deans and officials of educational and medical centers were present.

During the visit, Ambassador Kupemba and his delegation toured the university's educational, medical, research, and international facilities, including Imam Khomeini Hospital in Sari and Razi Hospital in Ghaemshahr, Schools of Pharmacy and Dentistry. 

The delegation was impressed by the university's state-of-the-art facilities and highly qualified staff. They also discussed potential areas of collaboration between the university and Zimbabwean institutions in the field of health tourism. Zimbabwean Ambassador promised to support future collaboration between MAZUMS and Zimbabwean universities and emphasized the importance of developing academic, scientific and medical cooperation with Mazandaran University of Medical Sciences.

 

At the end of the visit, Ambassador Kupemba and MAZUMS signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on international scientific cooperation. The MoU aims to promote cooperation between the two parties in areas such as medical education, research, and patient care.
