The University of Social welfare and Rehabilitation sciences (USWR) was established in 1992 as a collaborating university with the National Welfare Organisation. USWR was recognized as an independent university under the supervision of Ministry of Health and Medical Education in 2007. USWR is a unique university in Iran and the region in the field of rehabilitation, welfare and social services. The mission of the University of Social welfare and Rehabilitation sciences (USWR) is to provide the highest quality of teaching and research in the field of mental health, social welfare and rehabilitation as a focal point both at the national and regional level.

USWR in The Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2022
The Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2022 has introduced University of Social Welfare & Rehabilitation among the top institutions worldwide.
The ranking includes more than 1,600 universities across 99 countries and territories, making them the largest and most diverse university rankings to date.The table is based on 13 carefully calibrated performance indicators that measure an institution’s performance across four areas: teaching, research, knowledge transfer, and international outlook.
Iranian longitudinal Study on Aging (IRLSA) database launched
The national project "Iranian longitudinal Study on Aging" IRLSA was officially launched in January 2020 by Research Center on Aging of the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences in collaboration with the Welfare Department of Yazd Province, Yazd University of Medical Sciences and Ardakan County Research Center.
In this national project, information is collected on 5,000 samples of middle-aged people aged 50 to older (even 90 years old) who have participated in the project, and during 15 years, based on about one thousand variables, Physical, psychological, social, spiritual and environmental changes of these people are monitored to determine the problems of population.
The results and information obtained from the implementation of the first phase of the project are a guide for the country's National Aging Document and can help organizations involved in aging to plan to address the problems of the elderly.
Department of Student Services maintains an updated record of students’ list as well as provides a range of services including course registration, change in students’ status, transcripts and so on. Staff in student service building is friendly and willing to help students to overcome any possible issues relating to study.
USWR’s admission process is dependent on student’s academic history. Some of our courses might have additional requirements before entering the course. A panel of qualified academics will examine the students’ competencies and they abide by the philosophy to ensure that the admission process is a both fair and beneficial to the students and the faculty .
USWR’s offers a wide variety of courses and gives students a chance to complete studies at different levels from bachelor to Ph.D. Students who wish to enroll in one of our courses must fill up the application forms which are available online and submit these forms before the deadlines. Financial plans should be done via our international office. High school diplomas or its equivalent must be submitted. Please be noted all the documents must be translated into English and validated by an academically approved agency.
