Department of Social Work
Due to USWRS’s goals and also because of increasing consideration to social problems in Iran, the Department of Social Work was established in 1993 and has offered a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work. The department has started Master program in Social Work in 1997. Due to the demand of national institutions and organizations and the need of the country for specialists at high levels of planning and policymaking, the department has started its Doctoral program (leading to PhD. degree) in Social Work in 2005.
The department welcomes national and also international students at undergraduate and also postgraduate levels.
What is Social Work?
Social Work is an academic discipline and a practice-based profession that promotes social change and development, social cohesion, and the empowerment and liberation of people. Social Work as a helping profession engages people and structures to address life's challenges and enhance wellbeing.

Teaching
We teach undergraduate and postgraduate (M.Sc. and Ph.D.) students based on a fully integrated curriculum that combines self-directed learning opportunities with high quality lectures and tutorials. The department ensures your professionalism and confident practice by delivering social work training from the beginning of your course till the last day of your study. The students have access to the comprehensive advanced study and clinical training and teaching, library and recreation facilities of the only rehabilitation university in the region.

Research is the foundation for teaching and clinical practice in Social Work Department. The following is a list of some of our high priority researches:
