 Department of Clinical Sciences

The Department of Clinical Sciences is one of the educational groups composed of medical academic members in different specialties. This department is administered by the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation sciences (USWR), under the Ministry of Health and Medical Education in Iran.

The department is active in different international and domestic educational purposes such as course programs, congress presentations, seminars and workshops based on scholastic and up to date approaches. With collaborations of academic members and the students, research programs in different clinical and rehabilitation fields are applied, in order to escalate the rehabilitation services within the third level of prevention and treatment.

What is Clinical Sciences?

As the medicine can be correlated with any human disease, the clinical group of medical sciences may be related to any rehabilitation issues. Clinical sciences at USWR are united to most rehabilitation groups via lecturing, consulting, researching, and medical remedies of most disabled patients.

Aims

The goal of medical integrations into the rehabilitation disorders is to provide the outmost quality of care for disabled individuals. State of art therapies are targeted based on a team work, consisted of all specialties involved in an academic medical and rehabilitation sciences at the Department of Clinical Sciences.

Teaching

All rehabilitation related subjects are being lectured at the USWR undergraduate and postgraduate levels based on a fully integrated curriculum that combines self-directed learning opportunities with high quality lectures and tutorials.

Research

Researches within the pure medical and joint subjects are areas of interests at the Clinical Sciences Department.

USWR in The Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2022 

The Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2022 has introduced University of Social Welfare & Rehabilitation among the top institutions worldwide.

The ranking includes more than 1,600 universities across 99 countries and territories, making them the largest and most diverse university rankings to date.The table is based on 13 carefully calibrated performance indicators that measure an institution’s performance across four areas: teaching, research, knowledge transfer, and international outlook.

Iranian longitudinal Study on Aging (IRLSA) database launched

The national project "Iranian longitudinal Study on Aging" IRLSA was officially launched in January 2020 by Research Center on Aging of the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences in collaboration with the Welfare Department of Yazd Province, Yazd University of Medical Sciences and Ardakan County Research Center.

    In this national project, information is collected on 5,000 samples of middle-aged people aged 50 to older (even 90 years old) who have participated in the project, and during 15 years, based on about one thousand variables, Physical, psychological, social, spiritual and environmental changes of these people are monitored to determine the problems of population.

 

The results and information obtained from the implementation of the first phase of the project are a guide for the country's National Aging Document and can help organizations involved in aging to plan to address the problems of the elderly.
