Departmental research by statistical methods and the consultancy service provide many opportunities for them.
What is Biostatistics?
There is no doubt that statistics is part of our lives and statistical analysis is the most important tool in many fields. Biostatistics in an innovative science that involves the application of statistical techniques to scientific research in health-related fields including rehabilitation sciences and it assumes a central role in medical research.
Aims
The Department teaches a variety of courses and covers statistical research related to rehabilitation. The department offers a degree program at master's level. The Master of Science program in Biostatistics is based on a curriculum proposed by the Ministry of Health and Medical Education.
Our vision is to prepare the highest quality biostatistics students in the world. And our mission is to equip students with the latest world knowledge of biostatistics and ability to perform innovative research. Towards achieving the aforementioned vision and mission, our academic staff works incredibly hard to provide excellent research and a dynamic education. With this aim in mind, we work in collaboration with other universities at national and international level.
Teaching
We teach postgraduate students based on a fully integrated curriculum that combines self-directed learning opportunities with high quality lectures and tutorials. Our faculty members familiarizes the students with the various design and analysis of studies, survival analysis, Survey design, longitudinal analysis, Bayesian methods, design and analysis of clinical trials, data analysis of other types and interpretation of results, advice on statistical computing packages and workshops.
Research
Our experienced consultants have excellent collaboration with researchers in other departments and they provide support to enable other academic members, staff, graduate and undergraduate students to understand statistical analyses. They help ensure that the proper design, methodology and analyses are applied to each scientific research. When you are interested in carrying out research in medical sciences, our department will provide answers to many of your questions.
